Backing Up Your Computer With Different Systems

Your computer may be one of the most important aspects of your life.  family and friends and love are obviously the most important, but when it comes down to it, you know that you would do just about anything to make sure that your computer stays safe from losing all of its information.  Your computer is your gateway to your life.  It probably has pictures on it from years and years ago, documents that are worth everything, and school work that you need to keep for some reason or another.  The point is that your computer is something that you want to keep safe.  That means you have to back up your computer from time to time.

One great way to back up your computer is to purchase yourself a new external hard drive.  When you think of external hard drives, you probably picture this big clunker that you have to lug around with a weight belt.  Well, you are in luck because they have made external hard drives super small now.  You can save a lot of information on a small external hard drive and never worry about losing your information.  Did you know your iPod can be used as one?

Another excellent way to backup your information is online.  If you just want to save your pictures somewhere, you can save them on online photo albums.  Most hosting sites with toll free numbers allow you to save as many pictures to your free account as possible, although few require that you do pay a fee in order to save a lot of pictures.  There are also online places where you can save your documents for just a small price. These places are called backup servers and they allow you to save your documents and files to their online server so that you will never lose your data.  Their server can be accessed from any computer or one of their toll free numbers which means that if you need to get a new one for some reason, you can do so and then just download your files from the online server and access them.  It’s definitely worth the money you pay for the access.

Other old school ways to save your information include things like CDs, DVDs, and junk drives.  Those things are great, but a lot of computers are not even made for CDs and DVDs, so watch out because the future might not have a way for you to access those files.
