Entire Vehicle Vibration when Brake is applied

Vibration is one of the most common problem with cars it can usually be notice on the steering wheels, however body vibrations also occurs but cannot easily be notice unless it is very extreme. One of the vibrations problems that may occur on a car is the shaking of boy when the brake is applied. Since it happens when car is braking it safe to say that one of the factors that cause it has something to do with the brakes.

Car brakes consist of disc brake at front and drum on rear, when the vibration involves body as the case above the entire car vibrates it means that the problem involved the rear brakes. Drum bake is most common among car to use on rear, it consists of a brake shoe and the drum, now the problem happens when the drum and the shoe misalign. If there is a misalignment on both parts, the shoe will not make even contact with the drum when the brake is applied and as a result the entire car will vibrates.

Misalignment of drum and shoe happened when the rear bearing is either loose of worn out, another reasons that cause misalignment is a warped brake drums. In any case it can make the car vibrates while brake is applied.

When the problem happens to your car, bring your car to the car shop for car problem diagnosis. Tell the mechanic to inspect the rear brakes for any loose or worn out bearings. When the bearings are good then the possible problem is a warped brake drum. In this case the drum is needed to be machine to even out the surface. Then replace the brake shoe with a new one since it is necessary when the drum is machined so that both parts will have even contact with each other.
