Leopard Print Wallpaper – Should I Buy Adhesive Or Non-Adhesive

Hanging wallpaper can seem challenging to a beginner.  That is especially true for hanging animal print wallpaper, such as leopard print wallpaper.  However, understanding which kind of paper to purchase can make the job less frustrating and less complicated.  This crucial step makes a big difference between having success or failure in the project.  Basically, there are two kinds of leopard print wallpaper that are sold in most stores.

The first is non-adhesive.  This kind of wallpaper requires extra preparation as it does not have glue applied to its back.  Therefore, if purchasing this kind of paper, consider talking with a sales clerk regarding what is the best kind of paste to purchase.  In addition, tools to apply the paste to the paper must be selected.  The downside to this type of leopard print wallpaper is that it can take more time to hang.  Usually, the adhesive must be mixed before it can be used, adding to the preparation time.  Also, the adhesive must be mixed well or it will not apply smoothly to the wallpaper surface; which tends to leave bubbles between the paper and the wall.  However, non-adhesive leopard print wallpaper can be less costly.  For someone with extra time and/or experience, saving some money might be worth it.

The second option for leopard print wallpaper is adhesive wallpaper.  This type of paper is generally more expensive, but saves in time, hassle, and extra supplies.  In this case, the paper is dipped in water to activate the adhesive before it is applied to the wall.  One negative to this type of paper is that it usually takes extra space so that a large tub can be used to prepare the paper.   However, the benefits to this leopard print wallpaper are, because it already has the adhesive, it takes less time, creates less mess, requires less tools, and can be easier to apply.

It is important to determine what type of leopard print wallpaper to purchase.  Non-adhesive wallpaper can be cost effective if one has some experience and time to utilize proper application techniques.  Although more expensive, adhesive wallpaper may be a better choice for someone that does not have experience in hanging wallpaper.  However, if one is unsure of which option is best for their needs, it is always wise to speak to a sales clerk.
