It is often difficult to find a good bed for your kid’s bedroom, especially when there is a need for space saving. There are good solutions though: short bunk beds and small trundles. Of course, they come in different sizes, so if your children are not very small, you will be able to find a suitable bed too. There are basic features of these beds:

These beds are made of two beds; normally it is the main bed and the trundle unit under it; if we talk about bunks, then the second bed is placed above the main bed. Trundles are easy to use; normally they have rollers so it will be easy for your kids to slide them back and forth. Some of the models come with built-in drawers to help keeping things in order.

There are some other things these beds have like a display area at the foot part, and bookshelves at the headboard. Your children can put their bags, books or alarm clock there.

There are many designs and styles these beds come in, so it won’t be very difficult to find the best match for your kids’ bedroom. Among trundles, there are two most common types:

Pull-out trundle bed – this is very popular, rather cheap and so called classic type of trundles. The trundle unit is simply stored under the main bed and when there is a need, it can be pulled out.

Pop up trundle bed is the other type; it is often a bit more expensive, but it has its own interesting advantage: when the bed is out, it can be raised to the level of the main bed thus transforming the whole thing into a new bigger bed.

While trundles are pretty safe beds, yet parents should make sure that a bed is sturdy and of a high quality before they buy it. Buying a bed is a long term investment, so spend your money wisely on it, especially if you do it for your children.
