Why It’s Hard to Get Legitimate Data Entry Work

If you’re interested in working from home doing data entry,  you’re absolutely not alone. It sounds like a dream job – sit there in your pajamas, drinking your coffee, getting paid to more or less push buttons. The fact that so many people want to live this dream means that there are a lot of other people out there who want to take advantage of you for believing you could get paid to do this. Now, that’s not to say there isn’t a data entry company out there that you could work for. There are actually a lot of legit work from home jobs falling under this category. Dion Data is one of those companies, as is Key for Cash.

In short it’s hard to get a job inputting data because everyone wants to do it. The jobs are out there, but the turnover rates are incredibly low. People don’t quit jobs like this very often, and so you can put in an application, but chances are great you might not always hear back. You also have to be very careful about where you apply. There are hundreds of scams floating around on the Internet asking people to pay for either information or “start up kits” to do data entry from home. Don’t fall for this. All they want is your money. Companies do occasionally request fees for background checks and things like that, but you don’t pay someone for information or a start up kit unless you know what’s in it and why you really need it.

Instead of focusing on data work from home, how about something else? You can get paid for all kinds of other things, including forum posting, answering text messages, and freelance writing. There’s also lots of legitimate call center jobs out there you can do from the comfort of your own home, and your chances of getting hired by these companies are much better.
