Yamaha YZ250 Review

The Yamaha YZ250 is one of the most popular dirt bikes for 2011. Most modern dirt bike manufacturers have stopped creating two-stroke engines, except for Yamaha. This bike is already a blast to ride in stock form, but it can be made even better with a few tweaks. Try adding a custom camshaft and tuned suspension if you want to get all you can from this bike.

Engine

Yamaha race bikes for sale have always featured powerful engines. In the 1970’s a racer named Mitch Payton used his skill with a 2 stroke bike to start the legendary biking company Pro Circuit. Thankfully, 2-stroke mini dirt bikes are still in style and are perfectly suited for both pro and amateur racers.

Tuning

If the YZ250 is tuned properly, it can produce the same level of performance and power as the 4 stroke engine which has taken over the modern motocross world. This bike is not very expensive to buy in stock form, leaving plenty of extra money for customization.

Aside from engine and suspension tweaks, you can also add a silencer to complete the package. If you use your money correctly, the YZ250 can be turned into an amazing motocross custom bike for only $700. This is why main professional motocross riders still believe that the 2-stroke engine is a great alternative for weekend warriors and budget-limited racers. With the right tweaking, you can turn the YZ250 into an impressive machine that will match the performance of the YZ450.

Chassis

This bike is suited for a 5’7” – 5’10” driver. If you are over six feet or weigh over 200 pounds, this bike is certainly not for you. If you are heavier or taller than average, you will need to get customized suspension and a more powerful engine if you want to pull impressive moves on the YZ250.
